Phil Slattery - An Unfamiliar Sensuality
there is sensuality in the unfamiliar
touch of a new lover
as hands quietly explore
ever careful not to hurt or offend
sometimes hesitating with lingering doubts

you wait for them
you long for them
you look for them
in each new paramour
and in yourself
those barely perceptible hesitations
wondering where to kiss
wondering whether to nip playfully
or to suck long and hard
all the while fearing a gentle “no”
or anticipating an instructing hand to lead
the probing tongue
or member
to a less offensive spot

then the passion is past
your smooth bodies
intertwine gracefully
while breaths intermingle
as each of you revels in the pleasure
of a new lover
and in dreams of lovers to come
