Abha Iyengar - Three Poems
|
Threshold
Know me.
I will scorn you
And your attempts to love me.
When all along
In every dream and every night,
I will imagine you
Licking corners.
A mouth here,
A cleft there.
Then opening
Parting
Lifting me
To thresholds
To which I will remain pinned.
The Truth Revealed
In the night
A star fall onto my lap,
five leaved petals of some forgotten
flower.
My dress of black no longer grieves.
I lift it and reveal my nakedness.
The perfume of the flower
consumes me.
Denial
Denial makes my collar
Weep with wanting.
My buttons break with desire.
My zipper a metal snake
Let loose and panting.
