Poetry & Art of the Intelligently Erotic
Issue 3.0
Eric Hamilton - Bathroom Floor Confessions
she slurred
scratching dugdeep
love notes
in stick-mud Aramaic,
bone hunting
shovel and brush

for signs of life
we knew existed.
her gasp—
silk soul encompassed me
like a manufactured
aura, one size

(too small) fits
all, that sent me
well over my words
to say, "there are
no soul-mates,
just right and wrong

and us."
the porcelain gods
as our witness,

we vowed;
as plots thicken
and roads narrow
we will send smoke
into the piranha-hearts
of temporary lovers

until time
lends us
to each other.
